Title research: Men in Black

 1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? 

The two main actors are first, then the title of the movie is displayed then a few more names in the movie. Everything like the casting, the director, the audio, and the costume designers are displayed. And finally the producers.  

 2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?  

It starts off with a little white dot moving around in space. It then moves into a dragonfly flying through a night street in the desert for awhile. The dragonfly is seen dodging vehicles until it gets hit by a car.  

3.  What connotations do these images carry?  

These images give a good idea of how this film may start as they show possibly the origin of the problem in the movie. They also give a good idea of what the movie will be like and where it may be based. 

4. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?  

The font of the words and titles are the first thing that shows that it will be a more action movie. Also, the opening sequence makes a dragon fly appear  to be action-like as it's barely dodging vehicles that come out of nowhere.   

5. What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?  

First off the music definitely gives off an action-based movie. It's the same way with the title also. The movie also starts looking at space which is the whole origin of what this movie is about.   

6.  How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions, and editing techniques.  

Technology was used a lot during the opening sequent as they had a CGI dragonfly flying throughout the whole time. They also must have used tech to get the close-up shot of passing by vehicles. The camera angles throughout the whole opening sequence all required a lot of techs.

 Something I really want to get right for this sequence is the establishing/overhead shot using the drone. In order to capture the drone shot I will need to pilot the drone at the correct height while keeping the shot smooth. I want to capture this in a single shot. First Day of Editing

  Today I started editing. For this project, I will be using I movie again. Choosing to do this was easy, I used the program to edit the commercial and still remember how to do most of the editing that I need to do. I started by importing all the footage onto my computer. After we got all the footage onto my computer, we started to plan out which shots we wanted and w hen. Since I had filmed some scenes in a different order, I reorganized them correctly to make the editing process easier.   I found myself comparing many of the takes, so I ended up consulting my group mates for assistance. The first big challenge was moving all the footage into the program. This took about twe nty minute s due to the la rge clips that we took. The raw footage was about two minutes and thirty seconds long.   Le Jetée is an influential and highly regarded science fiction film that explores the concept of time travel and the role that memory plays in shaping our perception of reality.
