I Found A New Racecar

Image
I found a new racecar. My old racecar was black. This car is white. They are the same year. The cars are exactly the same. They are just different colors. The new car also has a manual transmission so I will not need to change it. I think the white makes the car look more aggressive and fast. There is only one other white race car on the track with me. The new car has lots of fancy options. There are manual shades on the rear windows. There is an automatic shade on the rear glass. There is also a cutout in the dash for a lap timer. This car needs some engine work. it is down by about 30 horsepower. This is an easy fix. The engine needs to be cleaned. I also need to move all of the parts from the old racecar to the new one. I am going to make this car super nice. Once I strip the interior I will cut all of the screws and studs still sticking up. I will then paint the floor to give it an even finish. I am in love with the new car and am excited to start working on it.

Filming Again

Image
I filmed again. I brought all the props and costumes. For this film session, we needed the worker's costumes. I brought these costumes for the cast. These were the same costumes from the previous filming. I also brought the car to "work on". I had everyone meet at the warehouse. I put the car on the lift. I had to use race ramps to get it on the lift. There are arms that have to go under the car. The car is too low to put these arms under. That's what the ramps do. Once the car was on the lift I made sure it was locked. The car could fall without these locks. This is very dangerous. We filmed lots of scenes. These included all of the scenes that we previously filmed wrong. We also filmed all of the outside shots. We chose to get them all filmed in a single day so the weather was consistent. Overall it was a great day of filming, but we underestimated how long it would take to film. This means we need to have another day of filming.

Getting All The Fine Details Worked Out

Image
It takes a lot of preparation and focus to make my film. There is a lot of work to be done to ensure that everything goes according to plan with two shooting days scheduled. These are a few of the additional elements I had to think about when organizing my five-minute video. I still needed to figure out the specifics even after deciding on the precise locations for both interior and outdoor scenarios that I would be recording. Before filming at any place, I had to make sure I obtained permission to do so and that I complied with all local laws. I then have to think about the time of day I'll be filming each scene and make plans appropriately. Make sure that I possess all the required apparatus, such as cameras, lighting, and audio equipment. Verify the availability of each and every person involved in my movie on the days we have set aside for filming. Keep shared equipment and surfaces that are often touched clean and sterilized regularly. Hand sanitizer should be available at al

Sound Design

Image
As a young filmmaker, I was always intrigued by the creative process of putting together a short film. I had experimented in several parts of filmmaking, but one area where I lacked experience was sound design. I had always imagined that sound in a film was simply added in post-production, but I quickly understood that it was much more than that. I immediately realized that sound is an essential component of the filmmaking process and may have a significant influence on the overall quality of the picture. With this revelation, I decided to take on the task of selecting sounds for my current short film production. The initial stage was to investigate and collect various sorts of sound effects that would be suitable for the film. I spent hours going through internet sound banks, looking for the right noises to complement the tone and mood of the picture. Once I got a selection of sounds that I believed would work nicely, I was ready to explore. I immediately realized that the placement

Reviewing What Was Filmed

Image
I took a look at what was filmed. Some of it was great. The cameras did a great job of capturing everything. The lighting in some areas needs some tweaking. I also need to work on my acting. In many clips, you can see me start to smile and laugh where I should not be. This occurs in many of the inside shots. A really cool angle we found was around the suspension while I was working on the brakes. The costumes really add to what is going on. I found some old AirPods and dirtied them up. This adds to the realism. All of the tools look really good in the clips. The sound could use some work. I will focus on tweaking it while editing. I will be using iMovie again to edit. I am most familiar with this platform. I will continue to look at all of the clips. Some will need to be re-filmed. I will make notes of these scenes. When re-filming and continuing to film I now have a baseline of what to look for while filming to avoid making these same mistakes.

Starting To Film

Image
I started filming. I recorded it on my phone. I also used a GoPro. I made sure both were filmed horizontally. We stuck to the storyboard when filming. Ryan and I showed up on time to the agreed-upon meeting spot. I bought all of the costumes. These included the race suit and helmet. The dirtied-up warehouse clothes, and the car. Ryan brought all of the props he was responsible for. Griffin was over an hour late. He didn't have any props that hindered me from filming. We started by filming the establishing shot. this took a couple of attempts but I am happy with how they came out. We then went inside of the workshop. Inside, we filmed the customer scene and the car repair scenes. The hardest scene to film was the exhausted shot. The makeup and costumes were great, but I couldn't keep a straight face. We finished the day by cleaning up after filming back at Griffin's house. His house worked great for filming.

Collecting Old Footage

Image
I have been racing for a year. You are required to have a camera in the car. I have a camera in the car. This means I have lots of in-car footage. I have clips of me passing other cars. I even have a clip of me crashing. These clips are from a variety of angles inside the car. I also have videos from outside the car. Some of these videos are vertical. I will be converting these videos into horizontal ones. They really captured the raw feelings. Being so close to a driver is a cool angle. You can see what I am doing in every corner. It is also cool as you can see the large track around me. The sound is also great. You can really hear the tires being pushed to their limits. The loud screeches can be heard all around the track. It really adds to the adrenalin pumping. It is also a great learning tool. I can really see where I make mistakes that ultimately slow me down.

Finding A New Race Car

Image
I crashed my racecar. I hit a wall on the right side of my car. I hit the wall while completing a left-hand turn. The right side of the car is completely smashed. This was after a full year of clean safe driving. This car is totaled. For our movie, I am trying to find a new car for the main character. It has been a difficult search. If I cannot find a new car in time, I can borrow one of the many other racecars friends own. In this search, I have looked on many sites. The main site I have looked on is Facebook marketplace. I have also looked on Craigslist and Auto Tempest. I have spent many hours on live car auction sites as well. I have placed some bids, but have lost. On Facebook Marketplace, there are many good cars. It is also the easiest site to search for cars on. I have gone to look at two. The first car was flooded in a recent hurricane and the car was very smelly. The motor was completely unusable. The second car I found was miss marked. This means it is unusable for racing.

Costume Time!!

Image
For my movie to be filmed, the props need to be gathered. I need to collect lots of costumes along with props. I started by gathering the costumes for the main character. For this, I grabbed my race bag. Inside there is a helmet, HANS (Head And Neck Saver), and racing gloves. I will need to borrow a fireproof suit from some friends to complete the costume. The next costume I collected was for the main character's dad. this character also plays the main character's race advisor. For this costume, I collected an old oil-stained shirt along with some black pants. The next costume I collected was for the support character. This outfit was very simple. I collected some long shorts along with a black T-shirt. For the final main costume, I found a racing shirt and stressed the material by pulling at the middle. I did this to get the appearance of a well-loved, worn shirt. I finished the effect by putting some dabs of oil along the front. To finish this outfit, I found some shorter sh
