Practice Makes Perfect
Something I really want to get right for this sequence is the establishing/overhead shot using the drone. In order to capture the drone shot I will need to pilot the drone at the correct height while keeping the shot smooth. I want to capture this in a single shot. I have been practicing for this shot for at least 1 hour per day. I will continue to practice until the day we shoot. Drones offer a unique perspective that will allow me to capture cool aerial shots and create more feelings that would be hard to capture any other way. However, it is important to approach drone flying with caution and responsibility. I must be aware of my surroundings and follow all safety guidelines and regulations. It is also crucial to plan out shots in advance and have a clear vision for the final product. I planned out my shots using the storyboard. I have visited the location where I will shoot multiple times. This allows me to understand where I need to fly to capture the best shot. I will use cinematic mode to capture the shot in high quality allowing all of the details to be captured. The drone does have some safety systems built into it that will need to be used in order to capture the shot. It will require tight provisions that will only be feasible through lots of practice. I may also want to use the drone t capture the car driving away which will require me to follow the car as it drives to the "safe house" which is owned by the bad guys. This shot would also require lots of precision to accomplish. The last place that this camera angle could be useful is the capturing of the location of the safe house as the bad guys carry the president inside and deliver the final line. "welcome home Mr. president."
