Starting to Edit
In full swing of production, we chose to start editing. We chose to use iMovie to edit our commercial. I started using this application on my phone but realized that after about an hour I had not gotten far. I needed more advanced tools to capture the result we are after. To use the application on my computer, I had to completely restart it. Ryan and I started working on it in class the next day. We got about a third of the way through. Ryan was a big help in researching ways to make the editing process easier and produce better results. We started with the first shot and found that there was a better way to introduce the product. We did this by adding little cuts throughout. We also used transitions in these cuts to capture the product in a better way. We then worked on the final shot. We started by trimming the shot of Ryan exiting the car. We then added a fading transition to the logo of the product. Ryans' idea of doing this allows us to not have to film our previously desired final shot. While this will save us time and allow us to add other shots before these. We found that one of our shots had been accidentally filmed horizontally. To re-film this shot I will simply drive around the parking lot while one of my group members videos the action. When proceeding with the editing process Ryan will come to my study hall to help me. I will also take inspiration from previously filmed commercials to make our commercial the best it can be.
