Gathering Needed Props
This week I have been working on gathering all the props we will need to use when filming. The first thing I tried to find was a box big enough for one of us to fit in so that we could turn into a Rocketship. I ended up finding the box at my mom's job and was able to get an extra in case we messed up when cutting. I will be able to use my current notebooks that I use every day as staged props that will not be interacted with. I was able to get a cheap photo album that will be the center point of the video. I will be able to use this to hold the pictures that will act as the transition points of the video. To do this, I will need to take pictures of my groupmates in the same positions and then have them start the video in the same position. This means that we will need to film the shots out of order and fix them in post-production. The biggest prop we need to use is one that we all already have. This prop is a bed, this will be in the opening shat and will have the second most screen time. This is only behind the Picture album as it will hold the power behind the story. The props will help us convey the point that the leading actor is aging and is regretting taking his younger years for granted. I will print the pictures both in color and in black and white to exaggerate the feeling of age. The other props needed are a medication sorter and ticktacks to act as medication. Props in the first six scenes will be the bed again along with others. Paper that will mimic bills will be scattered across the table and the actor will sort through them. To do this I printed fake bills onto printer paper. We will also need coffee for the actor to drink at the table. I will get this coffee on the way to the filming location and then transfer the coffee to a mug. I was also able to find other photo albums around my house that can be added to our album that the actor will pick out of the stack.
